Description
WE&I Art in partnership with OKU Sentral and Malaysian Rare Disorders Society (MRDS) are pleased to announce an exciting event created specially for the diverse community ;

A 2-Day event FOR , ABOUT & BY the diverse community showcasing their different abilities from 8-9 December 2018 at Oasis Ara Damansara.

Towards a common goal of building an inclusive society beginning with the Arts for and with all kinds of differently-abled Artists & Artistes coming together to showcase and collaborate in the Arts.

To enable and empower them towards community unity and independent living beginning with the world of arts (ie: art exhibition, short film, photography, fun walk, booths selling arts and craft produced by this community, performances etc) and creating awareness (ie via educational and sharing sessions / talks/forums etc) for the community as well as the general public.

FREE ADMISSION.
Lunch and refreshments available for purchase.
Separate fees apply for selected workshops.

Mural & Graffiti ((Authentic Art Experimental With Difable by Arts Design Faculty UiTM)

Description: A community art project where you can participate in mural and graffiti painting with the diverse community run by Arts Design Faculty UiTM.

Description: Organised by RD Youth Advocates - ART (Art by the Rare Team). Participation by a minimum donation of RM50, includes workshop materials. A percentage of the proceeds will go to the charities involved in WE&I ARTFEST.

WE-Talk 1 | The Art of Staying Positive

Description: A sharing session by RD Youth Advocates - WAU (We Are Unique, We Also Share). Tap the strength of Daniel Lee and Nur Nabiha Fazali, both born with a rare condition Osteogenesis Imperfecta aka Brittle Bone and Miza Marsya born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, from their sharing on how to stay positive despite their rare conditions. Panel moderator will be Ms. Rifan Azwani Mazlan from the Genetic Counselling Society Malaysia (GCSM)

Basic Sign Language

Description: Come a learn basic sign language with one of our Special Expressions 2 artists, Zulaiha Zulkapli. Entry by minimum donation of RM20.

Face Art, Skin Care & Portrait Photography Services

Description: Make-up services by ART team from MRDS and photography session by Ms. Shuhada Hasim (Activist, Photographer & Creative Director at TAPWomen) where you can get professional portraits taken for a minimum donation of RM10 per services (FREE for OKU Card Holders). Portraits taken will be emailed to you once completed. Prints are available upon request and will be charged separately by the photographer. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED via email weandiarts@gmail.com. ART OF HEALING by Heal Studio

Description:
-The Art of Healing
The session will be a presentation on the art of Healing, exploring the different kinds of healing method that we can use around us and in our daily routine. What is effective for us may not be applicable to others as our body is unique in respond to certain types of stimulus. A practical session on applying these method will be interesting as participants will feel and explore their own effective healing method.

Description: A musical showcase by Ras Adiba Radzi (OKU Sentral) featuring artworks by WE&I Art which will be available for sale, parts of the proceeds will be donated to NGO partners Malaysian Council of Rehabilitation (MCR), OKU Sentral and Malaysian Rare Disorders Society (MRDS). *This event is by reservation only with minimum donation of RM100 per seat (Contact Shimah - 012 289 1882/Ahmad Danial - 012 2216605)

Body & Space Workshop
Date: 8 December 2018, Saturday
Venue: STUDIO
Time: 3.00pm – 7.00pm
Description:
The 4 hour physical workshop will introduce participants to the architecture of the body within a space and explore individual physical quality. The workshop process is to revisit the body as a tool to play, experiment and explore individual’s composition of the body and its relationship to the environment, through Image Theater and undergoing basic viewpoints exercises. The second half of the session would require participants to work in groups and create images with their body.The session will end with a reflection upon images, physical vocabulary and participants responses through out the workshop process. The workshop will be held in English. Suitable for physically inclined individuals and youths. Limited slots available. A parade where you can dress in the most creative way and walk along with artists and creative individuals from the diverse community. Capoiera by Group Cordao de Ouro Malaysia

Description: Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music. It was developed in Brazil at the beginning of the 16th century. It is known for its quick and complex maneuvers, predominantly using power, speed, and leverage across a wide variety of kicks, spins, and other techniques.

Description: A sharing session by RD Youth Advocates - WAU (We Are Unique, We Also Share). Have you got a dream? How do you chase your dreams if you are challenged with a rare medical condition? Find out from Mawaddah Athilah who has a rare skin condition Ichthyosis, Lengiswarry Apparao who has to use the bipap machine at most times given her condition Nemaline Myopathy and Shahrul Hafidz who was born with Pseudo Achondroplasia. Panel moderator will be Kathlin Kaminiy Ambrose Michael.

-Ambulation
Transferring our loved ones can cause alot of mechanical stresses on the care taker as we are engrossed into ambulation every single day. Taking care of our posture while transferring and core strength are key components in sustaining this activity to prevent long term back problems. This session will look at the best transferring method in different positions.

GREEN ART PROJECT

SILK SCREEN PRINTING & PENCIL/CHARCOAL SKETCHING Workshop by wREGA (Graphic Design Association)

Description: Screen printing is a printing technique whereby a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil. Charcoal sketching especially for architectural designs will be taught.

WE-Talk 3 | The Art of Life Balancing : Raising RD Children

Description: A sharing session by parents to RD Youth Advocates - WAU (We Are Unique, We Also Share). Learn from Pn Mas Ahmah Jonid who has to balance between a career, social services on top of raising her daughter who was born with Icthyosis and Ms Jessie Koo, a working mother of two, a top Malaysian blogger on parenting and an advocate for Williams Syndrome Malaysia. A product of a great mother, Professor Dr Ruzita Amin, member of National Education Advisory Council, will moderate the session.


WE- Share : “ART IS A JOURNEY” Parents Sharing Session
